On the occasion of the International Day of Traditional Sports and Games, on the 14th of August, Her Excellency Gabriela Ramos, the Assistant Director-General for Social and Human Sciences of UNESCO, gave her official written message for the celebrations this Day. In her letter addressed to President ICTSG Mr. Khalil Ahmed Khan, she reiterated UNESCO's firm stance on promoting and preserving traditional sports and games.

Mr. Yahya Al-Matarr Jobe the Permanent Delegate of Gambia to UNESCO was elected as the President of the Union of African Traditional Sports and Games after his appointment as Official Coordinator of the Council for the African region by the President ICTSG.

His Excellency Mr. Joel Bouzou, Ambassador-at-large of the International Council of Traditional Sports and Games (ICTSG) and Founder and President of Peace and Sport said that traditional sports and games have become diplomatic solutions which promote unity, social cohesion and contribute to the protection of the environment on the occasion of the International Day of Traditional Sports and Games on 14 August 2022.

The President of the International Council of Traditional Sports and Games Mr. Khalil Ahmed Khan expressed solidarity with all members and traditional sports fraternity in a letter addressed to Ministers, UNESCO Permanent Delegations, International Sports Federations and other TSG stakeholders.

Nadaam is a traditional festival which is celebrated each year starting from July 11 across Mongolia. The festival is mainly based on eriin gurvan naadam which means the three games of men. It is a national holiday for all the Mongolians and spectators come in large numbers to see the Festival every year.
